In the Heart of Shebenik National Park

Bujtina KAEL rises in the village of Dorez, Librazhd — your private gateway to Shebenik National Park, one of Albania’s largest and most pristine protected areas, declared a national park in 2008. Spanning 34,507 hectares (345 km²), the park climbs from 300 m to over 2,200 m above sea level, sheltering 14 glacial lakes, ancient UNESCO-protected beech forests, and rare wildlife including brown bears, wolves, and the elusive Balkan lynx.

Rated 5.0 by over 225+ guests, Bujtina KAEL welcomes you to traditional suites where authentic Albanian character meets refined touches of luxury — featuring a private jacuzzi in every suite, a daily homemade breakfast, a warm garden terrace, free WiFi and parking. A truly unforgettable mountain escape.

Park & Suites

Step into our traditional suites, where the authentic charm of the Albanian mountains — natural stone walls, warm wooden details, and handwoven rugs — comes together beautifully with elegant touches of comfort and luxury. Each suite offers a private jacuzzi, soft ambient lighting, and a welcoming atmosphere created to relax both body and mind. Enjoy a glass of local wine while soaking in the warm bubbles, unwind in the soft glow of candlelight, and let the peaceful silence of the mountains surround you. Every morning, wake up to a homemade breakfast featuring fresh white cheese, pure mountain honey, handmade byrek, farm-fresh eggs, homemade jam, and aromatic mountain herbal tea. Free WiFi and private parking are included.

Shebenik National Park covers 34,507 hectares — about 345 million m² of untouched natural beauty in eastern Albania, within Elbasan County. The park extends across the regions of Librazhd and Prrenjas, forming a unique natural corridor that connects with neighbouring North Macedonia. With altitudes ranging from 300 m to over 2,200 m, the park offers an incredible variety of landscapes: thick forests, green alpine meadows, rocky mountain peaks, and quiet hidden valleys that seem untouched by time.

Hidden above 1,800 m, 14 glacial lakes formed during the Ice Age reflect the sky in their crystal-clear waters — making them one of the most beautiful hiking destinations in Albania. The park is also home to ancient beech forests, recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, and considered among the oldest and most preserved ecosystems in Europe. These forests and mountain meadows shelter rare wildlife, including the brown bear, the wolf, and the rare Balkan lynx — one of the most endangered wild cats in the world.

With a perfect 5 rating from more than 225 travellers, Bujtina KAEL is one of the top-rated places to stay in the entire Elbasan County. Guests from around the world love the warm family hospitality, the romantic atmosphere, the delicious homemade food, the clean and comfortable suites with private jacuzzi, and the perfect location, which makes it the ideal base for exploring Shebenik National Park. This is more than just a place to sleep — it’s a place where unforgettable memories are created, and where every evening ends with fresh mountain air, great food, and warm conversations shared under a sky full of stars.
